FilmLab Love Child

The first love child birthed from the inaugural 2009 FilmLab workshop is not a film but a company.

Closer Productions three founders Sophie Hyde, Bryan Mason and Matthew Bate entered the lab as two separate film production companies, Plexus Films and Closer Productions Partnership yet emerged as one after spirited conversations in and around the lab exposed fertile creative synergies and strategic opportunities.

Building on the success of their respective multi-award winning short form documentary and drama projects, the now fully established Closer Productions will have produced two FilmLab films over two years, Shut Up Little Man (Premiered at the BigPond Adelaide Film Festival 2011 and also screened at Sundance) and 52 Tuesdays which is currently in production (every Tuesday for 52 weeks).
