FilmLab Teams Win at MIFF

Ashlee Page has won the Emerging Australian Filmmaker award with her short film The Kiss and director Matthew Bate has taken out the Best Documentary Short Film award for The Mystery of Flying Kicks at the 2010 Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF), Australia's most critically acclaimed film festival.

Sophie Hyde's short film Elephantiasis also screened at the festival.

In addition to the cash prizes, Matthew and Ashlee have also been invited to attend the festival's Accelerator program, a prestigious four-day event that brings together and supports the best young filmmakers from across Australia and New Zealand.
